hi can anyone help me.
my great aunts name is inga h m moldenhauer. she came over after the war and settled and married. her family bussiness in germany was to do with the fur trade and she still gets profits from them even all these yrs down the line.
im trying to trace back her family line. any ideas please. she was born around 1930s.

Moldenhauer is a very unusual name (even in Germany). Since you're sort of at a dead end with her except for that marriage record to a Copestake in 1948, you really should get a copy of her marriage ceritificate and see what it says. Furthermore, because of the unique surname I think it would be helpful to search Moldenhauers in general to see where they came from in Germany. A dozen or so ended up in the US and the likelihood that they are connected due to the unusual surname means they could be connected. There's a Moldenhauer in the old East of Germany just NW of Berlin...which would have been a good reason for Inga to leave before or during WWII.
Just a thought to knock down a brick wall!
