Isabellas death is on SP:
www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk
you will need to buy credits to see full cert. for 1 credit:
Isabella Cardow other surname Sally (ignore spellings!!)
died 1890 age 35 rutherglen.
death certs in scotland are fuller than English ones. you might find name of parents / mothers maiden name / cause of death / info supplied by etc.
Diddy

marriage to maria also on SP. 1903 as stated. Blythswood, lanark.
Diddy

full Civil registration started in Ireland in 1864 so based on the 1881 census information posted by Diddy two of the Children's births should be included.
John 6 c 1875
George 3 c 1878
An index to Irish Civil records is available on : http://pilot.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#p=2;t=searchable;c=1408347
Cardoo sounds like an uncommon name so that might make the search easier. Willam and Isabella's marriage may also be included.
You can order research certs by post from the GRO using the index details - www.groireland.ie

Hi Scardoo - I see your thread was moved from my own.
I know of family directly descended (my boyfriends) from the Irish Cardoo family who moved to Scotland. They were from County Tyone. I've not much info in Ireland but plenty for Scotland.
I can't find them on the Irish Civil Records as much as I've tried!
These look to be like yours may be closely related to mine at least.
My earliest Cardoo so far is a Jane Cardoo born circa 1833 in Ireland and died 1899 in Coatbridge, Scotland. There's mention of Rutherglen in some records of her children. She married a Robert Gray (also Irish) in Co.Tyrone, Ireland around 1856. Her parents were William Cardoo born Ireland, a farm labourer and Mary.
I believe she could have also been born in Co.Tyrone around Dungannon, Minterburn.. maybe.
Contact me through PM If you'd like :)

I suspect the spelling of the surname have been altered somewhere along the line - the closest that I can see as a possible match is Cordue.
There are a few civil records for this surname around Tipperary & Limerick - but nothing that I can see at the moment for the marriage or the two children.

Personally my Cardoo name ranges from, Cardoo - Cardow - Curdue (as you've mentioned) - Gardow.
His Grandmother is a Curdoe - to this day.
Lisa.
EDIT: Just on the off-chance that yours were Northern Irish too, you got me interested again. I did a look up of Cardoo and varients and found this:
Caddoo, Hugh, farmer, Minterburn
Caddoo, James, farmer, Tullygiven
Caddoo, John, Kilmore
... From the Belfast and Ulster Towns Directory for 1910 (website: http://www.libraryireland.com/UlsterDirectory1910/Caledon.php)
and a James Cadoo in Desertmartin
There's also a few listed on the Griffiths Valuation :o

Hi Simone - I'm researching the same Cardoo line. (Also stuck at George & Mary). William re-married (widow Maria Caldwell nee Irvine) 29 July 1903 after Isabella died at home (19 Spittal Row) on 27 Feb 1890. The branch I'm following is Williams youngest son Alexander born 19 April 1906 who married Janet Fraser. They came to Australia and had a daughter Cardoo (Still living). I'm keen to find out whether you have any additional information & would be happy to provide the info I have.
Regards
Gerard.

Hi,
I'm not sure if any of this will be relavant to your search.
My great grandfather was William Robert Cardow married to Agnes Buist 1905, they had 6 children
Janet 1908 - William b. 1910 - John b. 1913-1992(my grandfather) - Jessica b. 1915 - Ester b. 1917 - David b. 1923 (David is still alive)
William Robert Cardow had the following siblings; brother Robert (children Robert and Edith), sisiter Jean (who married Jim Sloan) and brother David.
My great uncle David has his mother and fathers birth certificates, so I get more information next week on them.
All the above were born in Rutherglen, where both myself, my mum (a former Cardow) and my great uncle David still live.
Not sure if we will be related as my mum had a boy in her primary school class who was a Cardoo (John she thinks), lived in Rutherglen, but was not realated in anyway to her.
Hope this helps, get in touch if you want more information.
