Hi Everyone,
I've just watched the Last Tommy on BBC IPlayer because I missed this show when it was on the Television, what a wonderful story it was and it brought a tear to my eyes as each individual told there individual story, what a brave set of men to have gone through the horror of war to enable us to have a better life.
If anyone else watched it I would be obliged if they could identify the background music for me, I found it very moving and it blended well in the background when interviewing the likes of Sandy Young, the 104 war Veteran.
I may be wrong but I think I heard this music, or, similar in the Film Schindlers List.
Many Thanks

Hi Johnna,
Yes I too watched the programme and thought it was wonderful.
I would suggest that you ring the BBC ( number for contact at the back of the Radio Times) They keep a playlist, and I am sure will be able to tell you what you need to know!
best wishes,

the BBC boxset is about £70 ish (7 dvds)
if you look on ebay and want a cheaper option last year the Daily Mail did a promotion for this series
and readers could get each episode 46 minutes, so people are selling them probably half the price, on 19 dvds, obviously as a collectors item you would be better with the BBC set
whichever you decide it is a MUST watch if you havn't seen it, even more poignant that it was first aired in the 60s, so all the soldiers they interviewed are no longer with us

forgot to say the music IS the score from Schindlers list
you can find loads of different versions on youtube

Hello Les_Looking,
Thanks for that information, it was just this this morning that I found by chance that the music was from Schindlers List, your correct.
Will take your advice on those DVD's, because they are a MUST, plus, I can afford them now that the family have given me money for my birthday.
Thanks Again,
Johnna J

Johnna; I bought my set from Naval & Military Press. (http://www.naval-military-press.com/search.php?mode=search&page=1 ) They have an excellent and long standing reputation. £64.00 as I type.
I see ye may be able to shave a quid or two off at Play.com. Though I've never personally used that site.
