nora devlin nee savage is terences daughter in law she married john devlin terences son.and nora devlin would have been my granny.
we dont know if she had any other children apart from my mum

Hi,
I noticed from the census that Terence Devlin had been married before and that Samuel is not living at that address.
Samuel married Nora Devlin in Belfast R.C. Church on 4 Dec 1913. The date is too late for my sources to give any children.
Regards
-
i looked up that marriage, its gives samuel's father as samuel and norah's as patrick, are we on the right track here.
regards mary.
-
hi, yes we think that terence was married before, who is samual that you talk about, it wasnt samual who married noah it was the youngest son john who is my grand father..
-
Maryderry,
I think that you are correct. It is I who got confused, my apologies to Beth. I now see that it is the son John 11 months old who married a Nora Savage. Unfortunately this is also outside my timescales.
-
john and nora are my grand parents what relation are you to them
-
I am not related, like others on the site I try to help where I can. In this case I got carried away with a marriage of Nora Savage to a Samuel Devlin. However I think that your Terence married Mary Kirk in Belfast R.C. Church in 1905.
Regards
-
that would fit in with our records yea. we knew he got married to a girl called mary in 1905 , but we didnt know she was kirk.
-
looking a little forward does any one have any thing on nora devlin nee savage, and originally from downpatrick.
thanks
-
hi again kingskerswell..... just on terence devlin, buy any chance do you know who his first wife was...
thanks again...
-
Beth,
Sorry but no. I have six marriages for a Terence Devlin which fit the time frame for the elder children but cannot find children which might confirm one. The nearest I have is a marriage to Margaret Henry in Cookstown, Tyrone in 1876. This couple had a son called Patrick but he was born in 1878,so is about 4 years older than your Patrick.
Regards
-
thanks for your time on this. how many children and what names have u got for terence and mary
regards.....
-
Only the younger two shown on the 1911 census. I have assumed they are the children of Terence's second marriage.
Regards
-
yea thats what i have. would you have any thing on these 2 children. john and josephine
-
Beth,
Sadly not. My information on children tails off after about 1885, except for the census, and for adults about 1920.
Regards
-
ok thanks for all your help.
