I'm trying to trace missing generation of my husband's family.  I've been able to trace from the USA to New Deer, Scotland.

I have statutory death record for my husband's 2xG grandparents.  This is where the problem begins.
My husband's 2xg gmother was Janet Gammie Gammie b 1805 Marnoch, Banff, Scotland on Janet's SDR 225/000021 her parents are listed as Alexander Gammie and Ann S Smith.

I've been trying to trace  William Gammie b 11 jul 1700 Marnoch, Banff, Scotland married Janet Morrison and their son Alexander b abt 1735 married Jannet White and their son Alexander b abt 1765.  If anyone could supply a lead, I would very much appreciate it.

 thanks

There do seem to have been quite a few Alexander Gammie's born in Banff over the years. Have you viewed the Parish records? Do they give the parents names on the marriage entries?

Janet was from a large family:
Parents Alexander Gammie and Ann Smith, all born/christened Marnoch.

 William 1792
 Ann 1793
 Alexander  1795
 John 1797
 Peter  1799
 Elspet 1801
 Jainet 1805
 George 1809

There are quite a number of Gammies buried in Marnoch churchyard. The Index is here:

 Hope this helps

How interesting. I have just found out that Alexander Gammie and Ann Smith would be my 4x grandparents so we would be distantly related! Unfortunately, I don't know any more than you do. My descent is through their son, George, b 1809.

Some of the GAMMIE family of Marnoch are in my direct line, beginning with my 4 x great-grandmother Elizabeth GAMMIE b.1779 daughter of John GAMMIE 1740 and Elspet ELDER, back to 7 x great-grandfather George GAMMIE c1670.  Been a long time since I've looked at this line.  Elizabeth married John REIDFORD.  All in Marnoch area.
