I live 50 miles+ from Manchester Central Library. I went across by train this Tuesday but couldn't find a burial - not surprising as I've discovered today that the name changed after a second marriage!
With the new information I've found the burial/grave on the Manchester City Council online service but I'm dismayed to find I need to pay a minimum of £12 for the one bit of detail I want - it would be cheaper to go by train to view the burial register, which I'll do but I can't get across again at the moment because of other commitments.
So if anybody happens to be visiting the Local Archives at the Manchester Central Library I would be very grateful for a quick look-up - I just want to know the last home address.
JANE HULSE buried 18 May 1963 at PHILLIPS PARK CEMETERY Grave P Consecrated 548 [aged c 82 years]

Hi Ian, i know you think it is dear but many of the surrounding cities and towns charge a lot more than that just for one record search of a burial. Salford charge a min of £15. Moston cemetery charges around £25 pounds i am told, Rochdale even more. It all come down to where each council allocates it money to and where they can get some income back. They are not government founded, so any expense come out of the council tax payers of said town or city.
After saying all that i will phone a friend who is only a couple of mins away from the library and ask them to do me a favor ( as they owe me) and get back to you on this.
Migky ;)
