does anyone offer this? someone reputable ::) i dont really need the original cert or the expense of applying for one online when im not 100% its mine but if someone lives close by and does look ups that would be great.

Hi,
I do not live close to GRONI but several of us have access to other sources and are more than happy to do look-ups. If you tell us what you are looking for we will do our best to help.

I dont know if ive asked before....but thanks ;D
Annie Moran nee;McClernon or McClernan
dob? Father John, mother ?
Married William Moran 1872 in Moneymore ( i have the transcript of this )
children Francis, William, Sarah plus at least 1 other un named ? All Moneymore.
William died 1900 ( i have his will calendar entry)
Francis and William moved to Glasgow 1901ish, dont know about the others, ive been waiting on the 1901 and 1911 census to go online for Derry ::)
So im really looking for Annies death after 1901 which will hopefully tell me her date of birth and mothers name. And if possible Williams death cert to give me the same info...his father was a John also.
I have been told by Derry Geoeology that the rcords are there but they are shut right now...

Mother's (or father's) names are not listed on Irish death certificates and exact birthdate will not be listed- just age in years. Index to civil registration can ne searched here (free)-

You have to order the death certificate to see all the details (although mother's name is listed it does not appear on the death certificate).
See here about ordering N.I. certificates-

Out of interest there is apparently an LDS FHC 10 minutes from me here in Spain...what would I expect to find there? is it just another way of searching their own site or can you access more information there or original documents? I wouldnt want to pluck up the courage to go just to find its what i can view in my own home at my leisure.

You would need to check with your local LDS branch but in general they might stock microfilmed records for their particular area/country and ou might find that any Irish records have to be ordered in. Years ago they used to have lots of microfiche in the branches (especially English church records) but not sure if that's still true.

I now believe she died in Antrim after 1912...could anyone look this up for me?
-
Have just replied on your other thread giving link to civil registration index.
-
Thanks, dont see her though...shes dissapeared :'( the only one I can see that kind of matches would have made her about 14 when she married in 1872..that wouldnt be correct would it? When I asked what the 'legal age' was in 1872 I was told 21...
In 1911 she states 50 but in 1901 it looks like 46. Her husband died age 50 that same year, so either could be correct...im stuck.

Hi -
I use my local LDS quite a lot. Over here in the UK you do need to phone in advance and "book" a place. They are only open on certain days and for certain hours. Places on the machines to view the films & microfiche can get pretty busy.
I would also suggest you have a look at London Family History Website (which is what I do). If you go on to the website and look at the mid/right corner of the site there is a section that says"Browse Microfilm Catalog", you can click on to the Country you want, this will then lead you to Countyof choice, this I think leads on to a section for what they call Unspecific films like Directories, Land & property etc. there are also films listed by Parish. If you click on your parish of choice you are then looking at what films are held for that parish and it will specifically say what is on that film and give you a film number. This is what you will need to quote when ordering the films. I never use the actual London FHC but I find their catalog easy to use and pretty indicative of what is available to order.
Also, the LDS have just started a new system where the film will cost you more to hire but you are allowed to keep it out longer, I think this has only been in effect now about 2 months so don't know if there are any "gremlins" in the system. I think the general feeling was that films would probably take longer to circulate around with these new rules in place. Sometimes you order a film and it comes in quite quickly other times it could take ages. I think sometimes they have to wait for a copy to be sent from Salt Lake.
Anyway if you have a look at the catalogue it should give you an idea about what is available. Don't worry they are pretty helpful at these Family History Centres :) :)

on the subject of GRONI lookups, I could really do with some information on a will registered at GRONI. Like other posters, I'm not sure if it's my ancestor or if I'll get anythign useful but I would dearly love someone to look at a will of a Rodger Grant who died at Mullaghmore 1861. Will registered 1862.
I don't know if there's much to be gleaned from a look at the will but if there was it might confirm if I'm on the right track. Can anyone help on that?
Maggie
