Hi again,
trying to solve a sight puzzle and 'think' the 1891 may help?
in 1901 the family are in Bootle Lancashire, in 1911 West Derby
Thomas EASTHAM born abt 1867 Southport?
wife unknown
John aged abt 4
Arthur aged abt 3
Cissie? born abt this time so may not 'exist' yet.
The places of birth for the children seem to differ on various occasions. In 1911 they are listed as having been born in bootle, then 1901 they are born all over the place - Wigan, Bootle or Southport even!
Any help greatfully received!
THanks Jen

Thanks so much Tati!
Answered a few questions which was good! And more birth places! Honestly!
Thanks also for the marriage date - i must have missed that one, but will chase it up some more when i get around to it.
Any idea where THomas EASTHAM was hiding? or are there too many of that name?
If not no probs, I've got a bit to go on from here tho!
Thanks again
Jen :)

Hi Jen,
There are several Thomas Easthams but none born Southport. Discounting the ones who are married, I can only seem to see Thomases either staying with their parents or single/widowed :-\

Hmm, it's head-scratch worthy isnt it!
Any chance of seeing a Mary/ Martha EASTHAM born abt 1877 in the 1891 census??
I suspect she may be Thomas' sister - there is definitely a link there as noted in the 1901 census - in fact she is listed as THomas' sister but i don't knwo the age gap seems too great??
Mary/ Martha Ellen married in 1898 in Wigan. I can't seem to see either of them in 1881. THe plot thickens.
Off to do some more thinking...

It's not exactly a rare name but this one caught my eye because she was born in Southport:
1891
RG12/3309 10 12
Oldham, Lancashire
19 Adelphin? St
4 rooms occupied
Thomas Judge, head, 32, Labourer Gas Works, b. Northamptonshire Coughton?
Ann, wife, 28, b. Lanc Preston
Mary A, dau, 3, b. Southport
George, son, 2 mo, b. Oldham
Martha E Eastham, adopted dau, 13, b. Southport
Maybe? :-\

hmmm that is interesting
the other names don't ring any bells obviously but age is right 'Southport' could be a clue
But havign said that the 1901 lists Martha/ Mary as being born in Wigan...
And it still doesnt solve the problem of her possible being a 'sister' to THomas EASTHAM...
I can't see any Eastham marrying a Judge either.
The mind ponders!
