Title: PAULERSPURY & POTTERSPURY
Post by: oldvivie on Wednesday 05 August 09 14:56 BST (UK)
Hello
I have just started research on behalf of a friend and I am a little confused as to the two place names as above. I am not too familiar with the county of Northamptonshire
I am finding it difficult to differentiate the two when searching for an Alfred Manning born c1837. Think I have found him on the 1841 but then he goes "missing" in 1851  and 1861.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Vivienne

Hi Vivienne,

Just checked google maps and Paulerspury seems to be half way between Pottersbury and Towcester. The registration district for Paulerspury is Pottersbury.

I think I can see a possible Alfred in 1851: HO107/1529 372 8
He's in London and gives his birth place as Towcester which is quite close according to the map I'm looking at.

 :)
