Thanks, Ruth.

I am pretty sure that the middle entry is my boy - and you have given me a new sibling!!

Any chance of the RG number for my records?

Hi David,

Although the Thomas Boon aged 3 in Gretton looks like a perfect match I'm afraid he dies aged 6 in 1844 and is buried in Gretton where he was baptised.
I have checked the family in 1851 and Vincent is the oldest child at home (born Gretton).

It looks like the older Thomas is your best bet even if he is slightly older than you expected.

This is his baptism at Benefield:
Thomas illegitimate son of Elizabeth Boone, servant, Upper Benefield, bapt 14 June 1835.
Butler was likely the name of his father.

Elizabeth Anne illegitimate d Elizabeth Boone, single woman, Upper Benefield bapt 21 April 1837
John illegitimate s Elizabeth Boone, single woman, Upper Benefield, bapt 19 July 1840
Robert Henry illegitimate s Elizabeth Boon of Weldon bapt 26 Aug 1849 at Benefield.

I didn't spot the baptism of Jane at Benefield so may have missed her ???

In the NFHS 1851 index Elizabeth is still single and living in Oundle with Thomas (16), Elizabeth (14), John (11), and Robert Henry (10). Jane may have died or be elsewhere. All were born in Benefield.
Thomas snr (who must be Elizabeth's father) was still alive aged 79 born Gretton living in Benefield so it looks as though the families Ruth found in 1841 must be related.

Hope this helps ???

regards
byron
