I would be very pleased for any comment on this car which is possibly driven by an ancestor. The date on the postcard stamp cancellation is 13 Sept 1906. Where would one find out who had registered this car?

Here is a reply within a couple of hours.
I believe that it is a Renault and the registration is Gloucestershire. The registration records for that time seem to have survived and I suggest that Toby Webb contacts:

I see that you are interested in the BISHOP family. Would this include any in Swindon? I knew a William Bishop who was a highly skilled monumental mason. A real gentleman.

I have passed on the info about the car.
My Wiltshire Bishop was my maternal Grandmother's, maternal Grandfather.
He was from Malmesbury but was living in Glos. North Nibley area 1861, this is roughly where all his children were born.
John Bishop born C1789 married Hannah Owen

The Glos. Record Office told me that the original owner was a Mr. Harry George Fussell.
