Hi
Could anyone help me with my other Gayton ancestors the Reeves' William and Richard were brothers - William born 1802 married an Elizabeth in 1820, Richard born 1805 died 1879 married Anne Fisher (1805-1879) married 1828.
They may have been born in Duston.
Richard is on the 1841 Gayton census same page as my Middleton ancestors.
I know nothing about there parents or William and Elizabeth's death dates also her maiden name.
Any help would be welcome.
Thanks
Neil.

Hi
1851 shows Richard b 1807 Duston

If you don't have any luck finding William's marriage - a copy of daughter Sarah's birth cert will give you Elizabeth's maiden name

Daughter Harriet was christened 3rd April 1825 so it looks a good bet

Certainly does Carole. :)
Maybe Neil will confirm soon.
As to William or Elizabeth deaths you may already know
Neil , they are not noted as being in Gayton.
Which time period are we looking at ?
William is a widow on the 1871 census so obviously
Elizabeth's death was prior to that.

Following on from other post.
Elizabeth is on the 1851 Census, and William is noted
as a Widr on the 1861.
There is a possible death for her on Freebmd.
Towcester covers Gayton and lists one in Mar Qtr of 1861.
Also a death for a William Reeve aged 81 in 1880 Mar Qtr.
I know what I am listing is Reeve not Reeves, yet it seems it
could be the same couple.

Hi Carole and Seahall.
After your great research i managed to find an old family tree from my mother who says it was taken from a family bible it appears that William married twice( the dates are stated as approximate) he married an Anne in 1820 had three children the first two have the same birth dates so must be twins a boy and a girl the girl being my g-g-g grandmother Maria born 10th June 1821.
Then another Maria is listed but no birth date is given.
Then a marriage to Elizabeth Hillyard and a further five children including Harriet-1825 and Sarah-1840.
So my assumption that Elizabeth was my ancestor was wrong and it seems like the mysterious Ann is the mother of my g-g-g-grandmother and it looks like she may have died young.
Therefore the details of the first marriage would yield alot of information.
Regards
Neil.
