Hi
I have encountered a problem looking for my Leswisse ancesters from Swansea in the 1911 census. There were quite a few of them, but can only find one of the sons listed. My g. grandmother, Hannah Leswisse and her sisters and other brothers seem to have disappeared.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
Regards,
Nicola

Hi Nicola,
Try Hannah Liswiss (she's probably in service though) :)

Thank you - found her! Knew she was a servant. Thought I had tried all the surname spelling variations, but obviously not! Still can't find the other brothers and sisters though, so any further suggestions from anyone would be much appreciated!!

I couldn't identify them either - suspect they might be transcribed as Lewis, actually (sigh!)
It might help searching if you could post their names, birth years and birth places :)

I am trying to trace my family Hastings.
Alfred Henry Hastings married Margaret Matilda Leswisse 1903 Swansea.
Any connection to you Leswisses's?

Hi
What a coincidence - haven't had chance to work on my family history since I last posted until last night. That is when I found out about margarets marriage to your Alfred. It was her second marriage. Margaret was a Leswisse by marriage - did you know this? Her first husband was David James Leswisse and I have her as Margaret Mathilda Thomas prior to her marriage to David. It appears she had one child with David - Henry Leswisse born June 1902. In the 1911 census he is down as a Hastings so I guess she changed his name on her marriage to Alfred.
Hope this is of some help and would love to hear back from you.
Nicola.
