I have been trying to locate the death record of a relative who died in infancy in early 1943.I have contacted he parish priest who was able to give me details from her b.cert.but has no record of her death. If the parish has no record does that mean there is no official record either. Is it possible her death was never registered.

The death certainly should have been registered by that date. How old was the child and is it possible the child died somewhere other than the birth location?

Child was 10mnths old and died in parish. An old relative remembers where she was buried in local g.yard.Yet no record of death exists.

Have you tried asking to see the burial record at the cemetery the child is buried at?
I have found most councils in Ireland have been helpfull when i have asked.
Just to put a spanner in the works( as i normally do ;D )
I have found that many children's births and deaths have not been registered at the time they should have in Ireland.
One other thing too, i know that all burial records are not 100% correct too. I have found my own father buried in a grave just a few months old , infact it turns out to be one of his brothers ( he was a triplet ) and his two brothers died only weeks/months old. One i have managed to find the other, not yet.
Migky ;)
