Hi i am new to this site my names becky with my mother meryl and i am starting a family tree, looking to find relatives in the montgomery area. i haven't got that far yet though.
I am looking for any information about Walter Sethel (cecil??) Owen B.1904 who married Annie Breeze in Forden.
Also Walter's father Edward Owen (B.1872 approx) who married a Sarah (b. 1875 approx in Mochdre) (not sure of surname), who had 3 other children as well as Walter, namely William, Harold and Edward (or Edwin only known as 'eddie' to surviving relatives). They lived at 37 Blackhall and apprently has a servant called Margaret Purce who at the time of the 1901 cencus would have been 15 approx.
Walter's grandfather was David Owen B. 1831.
Walter Sethel/Cecil had 7 children namely Walter Dennis, Jackie, Ellis, Glyn, Lesley, Dora and Lilly. All of which are still alive except for Walter Dennis who was my grandfather (my mothers father) who died early this year.
Any information any could give us would be a great help as we are stuck a bit now.
Thanks in advance. :-\

Hi and welcome to Rootschat
Here's his birth reg for starters so we first need to work backwards from that info
Births Mar 1904
Walter Cecil OWEN Forden 11b 155
Do you know if Walter was their first born child
Where was Edward born? have you found him on the 1881 census which is free to search at www.familysearch.org
Freebmd has 3 possible marriage for Edward & Sarah - one in Forden and 2 in Conway so I think you will need to buy a copy of Walters birth cert to establish Sarah's maiden name

Hi,
The 1901 census shows this family at Blackhall, Llandyssil - Edward Owen (28), Farmer b. Mochdre , his wife Sarah A Owen (26), b. Forden and 2 children, Edwin A (or R?) (3) and William R (2).
The likelihood, therefore, is that the Forden marriage identified by Carole is the right one - Qtr Dec 1896 Edward Owen & Sarah Ann Evans Forden 11b/359.
The marriage certificate will give you more information to validate names of their fathers.
It is probable that Edward is the son of David & Jane Owen, who in the 1871 census were at The Mill, Escaergeiliog, Mochdre. David (38) b. Kerry is a Miller, wife Jane, also born in Kerry is aged 36. They have 4 children, Richard (11), Pryce (7), Herbert (4) and Mary Ann (1).
By 1881, David (48) was widowed and now described as an 'Ag. Lab.'. Mary Ann (11) was still at home together with Edward (8).
David was still at The Mill, on his own, in 1891 and 1901.
If you need any other census look-ups for this family, please ask.
Good luck
Stan
