Probably no connection whatsoever, but I'll mention it anyway as it refers to Paisley. There is a gravestone in Neilston cemetery with several Paterson's on it - none called James, but included in the names is
"Thomas Paterson died 22nd May 1941, aged 78 years, interred at Woodside Cemetery, Paisley."
From the names on the stone, the parents of Thomas appear to be Thomas Paterson and Janet Wilson.

I have been on Scotlands People and I don't think there will be a connection. From SP, the marriage was after Banns according to the forms of the Catholic Church. From SP, James Paterson, Iron Stone Miner, address Uplawmoor, Neilston. His parents are listed as David Paterson, gardener (deceased) and Sarah Paterson, maiden name Whiteburn.
Mary Gallacher is a Bleacher and her parents are James Gallocher and Ellen Gallocher, maiden name McBride.
Priest was James McNamara. Witnesses are a Daniel Gallocher and a Bernard Branigan.
Might help finding the family on the census.
