Does anyone know of any newspaper articles about the sinking of the Hare in 1917 on its journey from Manchester to Dublin 7 miles east of the Kish light vessel; or maybe where I can get a list of crew from.
My Great Grandfather Willam Byrne was a merchant seaman and was lost at sea when this vessel was torpedoed, his name is on the Merchant Navy & Fishing Fleets memorial in London and Kilmore Quay.
Any information would be much appreciated.
Best wishes
Yvette

Hi Yvette, I gather you are a great granddaughter of William Byrne. I'm currently looking to talk to the descendants of those who tragically went down on the Ship in 1917. Would you be interested in making contact with us? regards, David
