Hi all
Im after some help with tracing my Armstrong family who came from Newbiggin by the sea. Im reallly coming off my nans father and mother who were Edward Armstrong and Georgina Hopkins. They had children, Bill, Jack, George, Edward, Bella, Ken, Georgina, Susanna Moyes bn 23 nov 1919, Jack. Im sure Edward was born 1876 in newbigging and also that he had a brother called James and they lived in twizells buildings newbigging. Im also trying to find out about Georgina Hopkins as i there are storys she may have come from travellers, ut not sure. Ive come to a complete blank with her.
Any info would be great!

If you get the Marriage certificate of Georgina/Edward it will tell you thier fathers names so you probably could get further back on the Census.
there is a Georgina Hopkins from Cowpen with parents Frederick and Susan which you may be able to confirm from the Marriage Certificate.

Armstrong is a very popular name in Newbiggin, just look around St Bartholomews Churchyard!
Anyway, my grandfather was an Armstrong (William), born in 1892 to John and Martha Armstrong and had a brother Edward born in 1876
The details are in the 1901 census records
I've just started researching them but have attached an image of the record :)
