I had a relative that lived at Pittensair Cottage, Lhanbryde. In trying to locate the whereabouts of the cottage in the village I have come across this reference link to aberdeenshire.gov.uk (http://www.aberdeenshire.gov.uk/local/map.asp?x=328230000&y=860690000&scale=1000) OR link to Google Maps (http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=lhanbryde&sll=53.800651,-4.064941&sspn=12.813998,28.168945&ie=UTF8&ll=57.630395,-3.203523&spn=0.001416,0.003439&t=h&z=18)
Is there anybody who could confirm or not that this could be the cottage.
Many thanks

Going by the old maps in the NLS, Pittensair does seems to be a farm just outside Lhanbryde, on the other side of the railway line as you found.
http://geo.nls.uk/os6inch/google.html
(Alternative spelling from old maps: Pittensier)
There seemed to be a u-shaped building which was probably the original farm, and another small building to the east which may have been the cottage. I'm not sure which of the buildings now there would have been the original.
I'm afraid I don't have local knowledge to confirm it, but I think you are on the right track :)

Pittensair is about half a mile south east of Lhanbryde. (NGR NJ 2840 6085
Latitude, Longitude 57.631884N, 3.2007W(http://)) There is a story about it having been attacked by govt troops shortly after the battle of culloden when it was hit by a canonball.

Hi, I also have a relative, a Robson, that lived at Pittensair cottage, about 1860ish. If you google it the building is on the 'Buildings at Risk' register.
