Title: Kelly family in Glasgow
Post by: Shine on Sunday 26 July 09 09:37 BST (UK)
Hi everyone - new to the site.
I live in New Zealand and have no idea of what records etc are best to search for my scottish family.

I am looking for present day members of my paternal family of which I know very very little.

My father is Robert Kelly born in Glasgow 25 March 1942.
His father was also Robert Kelly and mother Georgina Lawrie.

From what I can gather he moved to Australia in his teens (1950s) and never went back to Scotland and had little if any contact with family. I know his mother lived for a while in Australia and died there.

I would love to know history of his parents but I am equally interested in finding out if I have living relatives on his side of the family.

Any advice or direction would be appreciated!

hi shine.

do you know the names of your grandparents, and which district in glasgow they lived?
if you have, you could go onto scotlands people. this website has birth, death, marriage and census records for glasgow.

                  good luck. doch.
