Sorry for asking such an obvious question. Blame me for being Scottish if you will! Can anybody tell me where the records for Chiddingstone are likely to be held? Is it Maidstone? If so have never used this facility. What would I need to do?
Sorry for being a pain!
Thank you
Ian

Hi Ian
There is a guide to tell you which registers you will find at Maidstone (or Canterbury or both) http://www.kent.gov.uk/publications/leisure-and-culture/guide-parish-records.htm
If you go to the Centre for Kentish Studies or Canterbury Cathedral Archives, booking a seat is always advisable http://kent.gov.uk/LibrariespublicUI/OpeningTimes/LibraryDetails.aspx?id=127
It's a while since I've been so not sure what the position is regarding a readers ticket these days ie. whether you need one or not. At one time you needed to provide passport photographs and proof of identity - it might be wise to ask when you book your seat.
