Hi Ritchie:
Welcome to RootsChat.
Have you found the family on the 1930 census (or prior U.S. census)? Would you have dates of birth, please for John and Catherine?
Any "current" information will be sent to you by pm (as the moderator stated). ;)
Actually, if you would know their place(s) of birth as well, please?

Ritchie:
The marriage record I found for John McPherson dated November 17, 1904 has his brides name listed as Margaret McGinley. Is this the record you are referring to and if so did Margaret go by the name Catherine?
Also, as Lisa states, it is easier to help you if you supply more information about John and his family.

John Mcpherson was born in Birkenhead, Liverpool, England in 1882 and Margaret was born in Manhattan in 1884. Apologies...I meant Margaret...Catherine was her Mother and my Great Great Grandfathers Sister and was born in Glasgow, Scotland...maiden name Conaghan,
Sorry for the confusion,
Ritchie.

Are you certain about the details you have? I found John & Margaret with the children you had listed in the 1910 Census in Manhattan & the 1920 Census in Brooklyn. In both, John is listed as being born about 1878/1879 in New York. One says his parents were born in Scotland, and one says Ireland. I know the census records are sometimes inaccurate or people don't know when/where they were born, but that sounds like there's a few notable differences from what you have.

1910 Census
John McPherson, age 31, born c1879, married 6 years, born New York, father born ___ England, mother born ___ England; occupation: Ironworker?, Foundry?
1920 Census
John Mc Pherson, age 42, born c1878, New York, father born Ireland, mother born Ireland; occupation: Driller, Navy Yard? (looks like Yark)
1930 Census
John Mc Pherson, age 52, born c1878, married at age 26, New York, father born Ireland, mother born Wales; occupation: none stated
So far, cannot find him on the 1900 census. The 1900 census would give his birth month, which could help finding his military, and death information.
Shelly, you beat me to it, again. Have to learn to type faster, don't I. ;)
