Hi Teresa,
Here is a chunk of Willises from my Wills Index.

Hi Teresa
From the 1851 census - Buckland
William Willis aged 40 H M AG Lab born Buckland
Mary 38
Elizabeth 19
Charles 16
Richard 11
Sarah 9
Eliza 8
William 6
George 3
Mary 10m - all above bron Buckland AND
Henry Willis lodger widow aged 67 born Berks Ferndon
I had a look at the register transcripts for Buckland and found Henry's wife Elizabeth burial (I think)
1833 Aug 29th Elizabeth Willis aged 48
Henry lived until 1863 and was buried aged 78 (wrongly listed as WILLS)
there are various Willis entries in the Buckland registers but nothing before the baptism of William in 1810
You will have to be careful if you want to go further back because also in the 1851 census in Stanford in the Vale there was another Henry Willis aged 66 Grocer & Draper born in Longcot - which is the next village to Ferndon (a mean trick ;)) so you will have to be careful to get the right baptism
Hope this helps
Debbie

Thanks both :) - especially for the warning, especially as I know some of these Willises end up moving to Stanford in the Vale (which is only just across the road from Buckland) must say its not the first time my family have recycled names and I've ended up with cousins with the same names confusing me ???
