My great great aunt, Selina, married William Johnstone in 1916 at St Pancras registery office. According to the marriage cert, she lived at 35 Harrington Square and he lived in AVC Barracks, Woolwich. Would anyone know anything about where they both lived.
She is an interesting character. I have an earlier marriage cert for her from 1906. She was married in Manhattan, New York yet on her London one, she says she is a spinster. Surely this is wrong? I would love to find out more about her. Can anyone help?

Hi,
To enable us to help you could you please provide a little more info :)
Was Kavanagh her maiden name or 1st married name?
Date of birth, place of birth and parents names?
Have you found her on any Census entries?
Cheers,
Trish

...and what sort of further information are you seeking about her?
Anna :)

Hi Anna,
Anything at all. I know she died in September 1929 in Barnet.
Thanks
Cathy

But when you say "anything at all" do you mean that you don't know who her parents were/maiden name/DOB etc? Presumably as she was your g-g-aunt you do know some facts about her already?

Her parents were Thomas Kavanagh and Selina Leader. I would like to know what her life was like in London, if possible and whether she had any kids etc.

OK then.
There's no sign of any Johnstone children with mother's maiden name Kavanagh registered in England & Wales at any relevant time.

Thanks for your help.

Cathy,
She seems a complete mystery to me ::)
I can find her birth reg in 1881 and death in 1929, aged 48, as you say and in between nothing.
I also cannot find her parents on any census entries.
Was her marriage in America to a Gudgeon or Pain?
To answer part of your original question I am sure there was a Munitions factory at Woolwich. It was in the Army Veterinary Corps area. Remember this was during WW1 when they married.

No, she got married to William Purcell on 13 February 1906 in Manhattan.
He was Irish, according to the marriage cert.
