I have managed to track my grandfathers brother - Albert Walter Woollard b. 1889 Lambeth, London, through to the 1911 census when he was a 22 yr old railway porter living with his widowed mother and some siblings at 42 Upper Marsh, Islington.
Does anyone know where I can look to try and trace him and any subsequent marriage and children etc.
Where do I go from here?
Any advise would be appreciated please...

There is a marriage for an Albert W Woollard to Florence E Mingay
Mar 1915 St Olave 1d/311
It might be worth looking into it but you would need to get the certificate to be sure.

I'll look into that.

Are you sure about "Upper Marsh, Islington"? The only Upper Marsh I know is across the river in Lambeth.
Anna :)

Hi Anna, my mistake. I believe Upper Marsh is just below Waterloo Station, as you say - across the river, from Westminster.

Thank you very much Devis - and all of you for your help. That moves me a step or two further on.
And little did I know when sitting at Waterloo station waiting Eurostar for my first trip to Paris the day after 7/7, that I was within spitting distance of where my grandparents and great grandmother were living in 1911.
Thanks again, all of you.

That is spooky Meriel. Assumedly they would have known each other.
Small old world.
