I have Frasers from Logie and Wester as well and have had no luck looking for them. I wondered if you had ever run across the family at all.
Margaret Fraser was born about 1775 in Logie and Wester (parents unknown) and married Pater Macrae in that parish May 2 1793 (although he is called Patrick in this record, I believe him to be the right fellow). They had the following children (that I know of)
James (1794),
Mary (1796),
Duncan (1798),
William (1801) and
Ellen (1802).
I have found some records for all of these except Ellen . All of the records show that the children are born in Logie and Wester. Nothing has been found at all on Ellen and her birthdate is approximate and taken from her own records here in Canada.
The McRae family moved to the Wick area - I don't know if all of them went and I don't know when. I know that Duncan and Ellen were both in Wick (Duncan in the village of Sarclet with his family). Ellen always said she came from Wick.
She married John Oatway in England about 1835 and later came to Canada with her children. They came to Brockville Ontario first and then to Perth.
There were Fraser relatives in the Brockville area in the 1840's but I don't know who they were.
If anyone has any ideas about this family, I would appreciate hearing from them. I had hoped to be able to pinpoint their origins before we leave for Scotland Sept 9 and have so far not had much luck!!
Thanks

Ann, I did look through all the records I have an cannot find any clues, my Frasers actually originate from Inverness so that may be why.
Good luck when you are in Scotland.......I envy you ! From a Brit transplanted to the west coast of Canada!
