hi all
I am new to this web site and hoping that i can get help with my husbands family tree.
I am searching for any photos/ information of the Rees family from Tirymyndd farm birchgrove Llansamlet. The names I am researching are Richard and Sarah Rees married in 1896, they then moved to bryncoch neath on the 1901 census, where my husbands father was born later in 1904.
There was as far as know 10 children that Sarah had, but sadly only 6 children survived, the names of the surviving children were David Richard, Janet Gladys and John henry[who's birth i can not find] and also Sulgwyn and Elizabeth Mary.
I hope that there is some one out there who can help me .

When they married in 1896 was Sarah a widow or a spinster
Based on where they are living 1901 and 1911 the registration district is Neath
GRO Index All registered Neath

The Janet Gladys you mention born 1900 was registered Swansea mmn Evans, is she the one you think is Jennie G

David Richard's birth was also registered in Swansea, he was born Llansamlet.

Thanks for the clarification
Confusing as their registration district was Neath.
-
Births, Marriages and Deaths must be registered in the Registration District in which the event occurred.
-
KGerrad, That is not always the case. I have been searching for travellers where birth, registration and baptism are miles apart, even months and years apart. What was his job? I assume they knew Swansea better than Neath, they may have had connections there, or worked there, so it would seem appropriate to register in Swansea.

As far as I am aware births had to be registered in the district where they occurred. That doesn't mean that everyone felt it necessary to follow the rules.
David was born in Llansamlet which was in the Swansea district, Janet was born in Llangyfelach which was also in the Swansea reg. district.
