At the risk of abusing the kindness here, I have a number of Woodford (Thrapston) folk I'm trying to trace details of. Listed below in order of preference. Or should I restrict requests to one baptism/marriage per request?
[Stlll Looking] George GUNN baptism abt 1804/05 (age 56 in 1861 census). Looking for father. I reckon it should be Jonathan (+ Mary ?), but another researcher has it as Jonathan's brother Jacob (+Catherine Forscutt).
[Completed] George GUNN marriage to Christiana ALLEN abt 1826/27 (their first child was born Dec 1827). Looking for date and Christiana's parents.
[Completed] Christiana ALLEN baptism abt 1803/04 (57 in 1861). Looking for date and parents.
If George's dad was Jonathan, then also:
[Completed] Jonathan GUNN marriage to Mary ? abt 1798 (first son baptised July 1799). Looking for date and Mary's surname.
George and Christiana are my 3xgr grandparents.
Thanks

Seems as though Christina had an illegitimate child.

Hi again Richard.
There seems to be a Christina and an Esther Allen with only their
names no parentage noted.
Esther, 10 Oct 1802, Christina, 06 Jan 1805.

The same goes for the three listed below.
Ann and Joseph both baptised 11 Jul 1802, George, 15 Jul 1805.

Thanks Sandy. Much appreciated, and more than I bargained for with those Allen kids.
Pity the recorder then was too lazy to give us the parents names.
And as to Christiana having an illegitimate son Joseph, that's not so surprising as that side of the family is littered with them. The irony is that my Gran used to scare my mum to her core telling her she'd be disowned if she ever turned up pregnant, then when I started this genealogy mullarky we chuckled to find that my Gran's mother had been illegitmate, as had been my granddad's mother, and now it turns out my Gran's own great grandmother was at it too. I know that in many marriages back then the first born was often a tad 'premature' so to speak, but my lot, well...
And finding Mary Meadows in Little Oakley, now that is a surprise. I'm originally from Corby, but grandparents from Woodford and Kettering. Little Oakley is the nearest location of any ancestors so far.
Cheers

Sorry Richard.
I meant the last three on reply 5 were the Gunn siblings.

I think matchsticks are keeping my eyes open.
Off to bed to get some sleep.
Problem now sorted, thank goodness.
