The man who was JONAS HOBBS age 30 in the 1881 census is JAMES WILLIAM HOBBS. He was born in LONDON CITY in approximately 1851. From 1876 to 1882 he was living in the Kilburn, Marylebone and Willesden area.
Can anyone tell me the registration district for a Notting Hill birth in the 1850's?
Good Luck and thanks in advance.

These are the IGI Batch numbers for Notting Hill which appears to come up under the West Sussex family history society.
Town or Parish (Church or Chapel) Births or Christenings Marriages Other Counties
Notting Hill
(Saint John The Evangelist) C042421 1845-1876 M042421 1845-1886
(Saint Mark) C100341 1863-1875 M100341 1864-1885
Try putting the batch number in on an IGI search and see what it gives you.
Tried a 'google' for Notting Hill but not coming up with anything useful.
Most peculiar.
