my grandad was working as or in a pawnbrokers in sheffield 1901 census,anyway of tracing any info on him
any help would be great yours ian

Have you looked for him on the 1911 census to get an address etc or establish whether he was still a pawnbroker at that time?

He married and died in Salford so clearly did not continue as a pawnbroker in Sheffield

1901 age 15 he was described as a "pawnbroker's assistant" so I would imagine he was a kind of errand boy and wouldn't think his name would appear in directories
