Hi everyone interested in Cheshire families!
I'm trying to find a potential marriage between Samuel Miller born 1787 on Norton Farm, Runcorn and a possible Elizabeth? Marriage probably took place between 1808 and 1815, maybe at Halton.
I'm also trying to find the birth/baptism of a Martha Miller, daughter of Samuel Miller and Betty (or Elizabeth) Rigby - year perhaps around 1800-1805. This baptism would have taken place in Runcorn. (I have the 19th century baptismal info from IGI regarding the children of Samuel and Elizabeth Miller of Halton.)
I have searched the IGI and Cheshire Parish Register Project (no stuff on the Runcorn area) and Free Reg, too, (nothing on Runcorn either).
If anyone is going to the Cheshire RO and has the time and the inclination, I would much appreciate the look-up, as I live thousands of miles from the UK these days...
Thank you all very much for reading this request ... In hope :D Anne.

Hi Anne,
If you have an LDS centre nearby you could order the parish register films that you need for a small fee - the link below will take you to a search facility to locate your nearest centre:
http://www.familysearch.org/eng/Library/FHC/frameset_fhc.asp
Otherwise, you could place an order for research with Cheshire Records Office - there is an hourly fee and you can set a limit on the amount you are willing to pay:

Hope this helps,
Jean

Thank you Jean for the advice - I shall look into the LDS business.

North Cheshire couples often went to Manchester or Liverpool to marry. Have you considered samuel Miller married Elizabeth Darwell in 1813 Walton on the Hill (Liverpool). There certainly seems to be an Elizabeth Darwell born in Halton in 1791. As for Martha Miller's birth she is listed before Hannah in Samuel Millers list of children in his will.
