Henry Sedgewick Harrod was supposed to have been born in Cambridgeshire about 1841. He emigrated to New Zealand about 1860's

Any information about parents siblings etc would be great or whre the Harrod family originally came from would be most appreciaed.

There is no birth on freebmd and no 1851/1861 census entry for his profile

Do you have his death certificate. Can be ordered online from

Order the printout, not the official cert. Should name his parents.

Thought the name sounded familiar. There are two Henry Sedgwick Harrods buried at Kelvin Grove Cemetery in Palmerston North.

This may not be relevant but on the other hand may connect in with something that Vivien learns... the Segdewicks were a very distinguished family in Cambridge in 19th /20th C.

That middle name may connect your man to them- and Henry was one of the Christian names of the  Sedgwick.
