Looking for information on Denis Moran and Maryanne Grady of 13 Johnstons Court, Dublin 2. They married circa 1843. Denis was a Chimney Sweep and they had about 10 children.

There seems to be four different Johnsons's Courts in Dublin city in 1848 (src: Thom's Directory) :
1. off Haddington Road, St. Peters (Civil Parish), 4 houses in tenements
2. off Basin Lane, St James, Tenements
3. off Great Brittan Street, St. George, 1-7 & 9 Tenements,
8,10, & 11 businesses
4. East Johnson's Court between Grafton Street and Clarendon St, St. Anne's
numbers 1-17
there is a listing for Denis on the last one :
13. Moran Dennis, chimney sweeper
he is next door to a Nailer and another Sweep
other businesses on the street at the time include :
bookseller, eating house, hairdresser, dairy, vintner
boarding house, book & shoe maker

From the details listed in the 1863 edition of Thom's it appears number 12 to 16 Johnsons' Court East are now 'new entrance to Clarendon Street Church' and Denis Moran, sweep is now listed at number 5 instead of 13.
In the late 1870s there is an Edward Moran, chim. Sweeper at number 5 - maybe a son of Denis ?
some of the family seem to be listed at the same address on the 1911 census : http://www.rootschat.com/links/06m1/

Thanks for that. Have no clue who Edward is as i don't have him as a son of denis and Mary The 1911 list is definately related they are the children of Denis son Timothy. My grgrgrandfather also called Denis moved out to ranelagh and started up the business there.I'm trying to find out where the Morans were before Johnsons court but having no luck . Family lore has them there since 1820s at the latest. Me thinks there is probably an earlier Denis and maybe edward is connected there

HI
Im looking into this family as well. As far as I know the original Denis and Maryanne are buried in Glasnevin. Alas the books are not available as they are being digitied. There could be others buried there as well.
Edward who looked after the business after Denis' death who was he? I dont think a son as about 5 years later Timothy had taken over. Could he have been a brother of Denis?
Timothy is in Glasnevin and after his 3 wifes is buried by himself and in a private grave but with no headstone.
