Hello!!
Would somebody please search the 1861 census, Tunstall, Staffordshire for:

John SMITH born c. 1910 in Stoke-on-Trent/Newcastle-under-Lyme, with his wife Lydia SMITH (nee Whitehurst) b. 1813 in Stone, Staffordshire living in Tunstall. They shoud have at least one daughter named Elizabeth SMITH born 1858 in Tunstall. Elizabeth married Thomas FEREDAY in 1880.

Dont know if this is any help whatsoever but I was in Tunstall grave yard on saturday - Im looking at the esther smith and thomas cooper families - Im sure I saw an old Lydia Smith grave.

Dont know if your smith is connected to mine I havent found a lydia yet
