Hi I had the same trouble as you with birthdate on the actual card at Southampton of my great grandfather.
His year of birth  on the card was 1894 but he too was born in 1874 even the actual day of birth was wrong but I knew it was him as it listed his home address and wifes name which matched the 1911 census.
Plus his photo is definately of a man aged around 46 rather than 26!!!

Joanna

There is this Michael Dolan who says he was born in Roscommon, giving an address of 20, Pleasant Grove(?), Bootle. DOB is 14/9/94 - so looks like he could be yours.

Just a thought, was her surname Dolan when she made the journey to the US? or is Dolan her name once she married in the US?

Joanna
Did you get a copy of the CR10 card for Michael Dolan from Southampton Archives to confirm his age from his photo?
I think you tried to email me thro the irishmariners website today but my firewall is misbehaving  and removed your email address.  Could you try again.
best wishes

Hi Earnest I haven,t been in touch with Southampton office about my dads card I ran through the list of sea men on there and he was there, someone looked him up on one of the ships listed and it gave his home address and it was the house I was born in ,there wasn,t a photo of him in the list which was a pity .The ship was called Vauban of Liverpool  (Lamport& Holt)among others he was on the 1/6/1921.Thanks for getting in touch. Joan

Hi Joanna,
It sounds as if you checked a 1921 crew list for VAUBAN and found that Michael Dolan, your father, signed on on 1 June 1921 which confirms with the CR10 card information.
The CR10 card  in Southampton includes a photo of Michael Dolan, which should be a good one.
best wishes
