I found this information on the LDS website and am hoping that maybe this is the Joseph Lovatt I'm trying to find. It states that Joseph Lovatt married Mary Stubbs in 1853 in Audley, Staffordshire. He was previously married but it doesn't say who his first wife was. Is there any way you might be able to find out what his first wife's name was?
Groom's name-Joseph Lovatt
Age-42
Bride's name-Mary Stubbs
Age-48
Residence-Audley, Staffordshire
Event-Audley, Staffordshire
Date 1853
Groom's father-Thomas Lovatt
Bride's father-William Stubbs
Groom's previous wife's name note-prev married. (This is the information I need if possible)

Sorry, dreadful image to read, but I typed what I saw first of all and then checked against the transcription which seems to agree with the names I've put, with the addition of Ann's age being 30.

Hi Anna, thanks for the double check, seems to confirm it all.
Not bumped into each other for a while, nice to see you.

Are the children in both familes of the same mother?
-
LyndaAJ, yes - so far as one can tell without obtaining birth certificates, it looks likely that the children in the 1841 and 1851 censuses are children of Joseph's marriage to Ann.
Her likely death: either
Death Sep qtr 1846
Lovatt Ann
Newcastle under Lyme 17 65
or
Death Dec qtr 1846
Lovatt Ann
Newcastle under Lyme 17 75
And Mary - good to "bump into" you too :)
