Title: Colour and Update if Possible
Post by: Tinapaul on Saturday 06 June 09 10:23 BST (UK)
Hi

Wondering if any of you can put colour and touch ups to my father in laws wedding photo...only picture he has.

I did blow it up for him, but that is all I can do....would love some colour etc in it as he loves the photo so much.

Many Thanks

Tina

Hi Tina

The photo is very small and scanned at very low 72 dpi resolution - 300 t0 600 dpi is prefered
This means that restorers will not be able to do it as well as it deseves

If you need help go to :- http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=198010.0;id=29638
Cazza has a tutorial that should help

Hi

Sorry for not reponding earlier.....Father in Law loaded with the flu.

I have asked him for the photo again so that I can rescan following the guidelines for the 300dpi that hippy sent the link for...Many Thanks.

Terry....what a great job ...sorry for all the trouble....new to scanning photo's....Many Thanks.

It is a really lovely photo....John really like that one of him and Margaret...sadly Margaret died in 2002 just after they celebrated 59 years married.

Hope to get the photo tomorrow as he is feeling a bit better as he is out his bed for a few hours.

Once again

Many Thanks

Tina

Hi

Father in Law's cold got worse, but thankfully with the antibiotics he is a lot better and managed to look out the photo so that I could rescan it...hopefully I have done it right.

Many Thanks

Hi JC

From what I can remember a few years ago when talking to Margaret...I think it was a Light Grey suit as it was bought with a ration book.

That is a great photo he has too! Wow. What kind of colorizing would he like to have on it? It is not easy to add straight color to something without it looking too cartoonish so would it be sepia or a washed out skin tones and clothing?
