Could anyone help me find the parents of Andrew Moffat born about 1793 at Wylbie Hill, Kirkpatrick-Fleming. He married Mary Ann Knox about 1818. Thank you.

freeBMD has an andrew moffat died carlisle 1872 but 1st quarter(jan. - march)
age given as 83 - so not too sure how accurate this is

might be worth checking out  :-\

Hello Lynn,

I was looking through the posts and came across your for Andrew Moffat.

Thought he was Andrew on my family tree but, the dates are different to mine. The information I have is:

I have Andrew Moffat born abt. 1797 Wysbie Hill, Kirkpatrick Fleming, Dumfriesshire. His parents were William Moffat & Christina Moffat (nee Fraser). William & Christina are my G G G Grandparents.

Andrew married a Mary Anne Knox 1818?. Their children:

Jane Moffat b. 26 August 1815
Mary Moffat b. 31 December 1816
Joan Moffat b. 05 March 1819
Francis Moffat b. 10 September 1820 d. 03 March 1892
Andrew Moffat b. 15 July 1825

Andrew Moffat died as a result of an accident when on duty as a Railway Guard and brake man
at Paisley railway station 1 May 1855. He died 3 May 1855.

Andrews wife Mary, died 23 October 1869. Have no information  on when Andrew died.
