David, Welcome to rootschat...
Have you checked the RC Surnames lists- the link is at the top of this page, 4th Botton from the left. You should also enter your surname interests for others to find and then contact you.
Good luck :D

Hi David and welcome from me too.
Is there anyone in particular you're looking for? If you tell us what you already have (names, dates, places etc) and where you're stuck, we'll try to help.
Is it ancestors or living relatives you're looking for? The more information you post, the more likely it is that someone might google and find you here. That's happened to many of us on rootschat.

Hi davidjc, If you go onto yahoo groups and join (for free) if you are not already a member.
once you have joined look for a group called Northumberland_ Commons, ( note the underscore between Northumberland and Commons).
It is a group set up for people researching their Common family roots in Northumberland.
I am decended from Edvardus Common who was born in Warkworth.
his son was Edward also born in Warkworth
his son was John born in Alnwick in c 1787/8
his son James was born in Alnwick in 1833
his son John who was my ggrandfather was born in Bedlington.
If you want more help or feel that we are related let me know.
