After a little break I have continued transcribing the 1832 Perthshire Electoral Roll . I have posted the Abernethy and Auchtergaven Parish lists on my web site . Click on http://caledonianconnections.com/default.aspx for all the details . Quite sizeable one with details of names , places and occupations . Parishes now included in addition to the above are : Crieff, Comrie, Auchterarder , Dunning , Balquhidder, Fowlis Wester, Monzie , Monzievaird and Strowan and Madderty . These are significant as they were the first ones published after the 1832 Reform Act when people eligible to vote increased up to ten fold . In particular included many tenant farmers for the first time .
Useful to use the NLS web site for a contemporary map of the area
http://www.nls.uk/maps/atlas/thomson/531.html (http://www.nls.uk/maps/atlas/thomson/531.html) and you can note a lot of the places which have now vanished .
