I've found that Sarah Proud died of TB at Quarry Burn, Hunwick.
When `Googling' Quarry Burn it brings up a pub, surely she wouldnt have died in a pub, would she?
Although I can think of worse places to end your days.

After Googling,I think it's one word "Quarryburn"....

Durham website has it as two words and it is the Auckland St. Andrew area then Hunwick St. Paul after 1846

Go to http://gis.durham.gov.uk/website/interMAP/viewer.htm and search postcode DL15 0RE
This will centre the map on the present day Quarry Burn.
You can use the drop-down menu at the bottom of the page to look at older maps of the area.
You can zoom out to get a wider view by using the '-' button at the bottom of the page.

Hello,
Quarry Burn farm was at Quarry Hill about 1 mile from Hunwick ( from Bishop Auckland turn left in the village past Wear View) . When I went to school in the 1950`s Elizabeth & Mary Heslop lived at Quarry Burn farm - they were teachers ;I think they had an older sister called Margaret;
Any use to you? Regards , Lizzieann
