Title: What was a pedestrian trainer?
Post by: time_detective on Friday 29 May 09 20:32 BST (UK)
Hi, Can anyone help me.  On a census return one of my ancestors was a 'Pedestrian Trainer'.  Wondering if anyone would know exactly what the job might have entailed.

Many thanks

Hi TD,

not quite sure if this is it, but looking at Old Occupations it could have been someone engaged to train people as walkers.  See link - under P

Thanks.  I must confess I wondered if it was teaching road safety.
