Title: The Edgerton Pub, Ordsall Lane, Salford
Post by: connoa03 on Wednesday 20 May 09 13:00 BST (UK)
Hi Everyone

I hope you can help me; I'm looking for some photos and any information or memories you have of the Edgerton Pub and its location on Ordsall lane and which brewery it was supplied by. My Granddad was the Landlord there in 1944 to 1954 I think, my dads a bit hazy with the dates!

Kind regards

Ali

Hi Ali, it might be worth asking Emms to have a look for you as she has a copy of the 1954 Manchester & Salford directory.

Hi Ali

Sorry I couldn't see them.  Definitely not at the Edgerton.  It's a landlady, Mrs Martha Dean!  I'll see what I can see tomorrow.

Best wishes

Emms

My husband lived off Ordsall Lane & thinks the Edgerton was a Groves & Whitnall house.

Groves & Whitnall brewery was also local to this area, although no longer in business.
