Hello my name is Mac Ballantine and I am new on roots chat. My brother and I have been researching out family for a number of years. The main problem i see is verifying information. Any way My great gradfather was Robert Ballantine of Ayrshire Scotland He was born in 1838 in Kilmaurs Scotland and married Mary millar in Kilmarnock in 1868 and then moved to Canada.After living in the Galt ,Preston(now Cambridge) area of Ontario with his brother John he moved with his family to Grassmere Muskoka Ontario on a land grant. I guess my question is this. Is anyone else reasearching this family? We have a lot of great info and we are pretty sure its right but it would be great to be able to share and work with someone else who's interested in the same family. Hi Mac and welcome to rootschat.
It could be worthwhile looking in the Surnames Interests list on Rc to see if there are others who are researching your lot.
Go to the top of this page and on the row of buttons, 4th from Llft click on "surnames" Check there and maybe add your own interests.
