Hi

Have just been told that one of my rellies Conway Family came from Air (i know it not spelt right ) but cant find it anywhere in Sourthen Ireland
can someone point me in the right direction please as nothing looks like Air lol

        This might be a mispelling for the Irish name for the 26 County state that is the Republic of Ireland. The spelling is Eire but the sound is similar to "air" with the sound of "e" on the end.

Sorry to be the one to tell  you but EIRE is the Irish spelling for the word Ireland.  What you really need to know is what county your relations came from, sometimes the census just shows Ireland/Eire or you may be lucky on a different census someone could say the actually county or town in Ireland.  Good luck with your search.
