Has anybody heard of the above named lady she gave this name on birth cert of her son Francis Grant 1907, Wrawby Street, Glandford Brigg, Lincs and her occupation as Pianist. The child was raised by the Binns Family in Brigg 1911 census shows Francis Grant as Nurse Child. When daughter Frances Binns marries she takes Francis with her. Could the mothers name on cert be false, the address given on Cert as place of birth looks like it might be workhouse in Wrawby street. Cannot find anything on Annie Francis Grant, any ideas anyonej ???

All I can find so far is that there were two Annie Frances Grants around - so we must be careful when finding birth etc!
An Annie Frances Grant married a Bartholomew Joy in Shoreditch in 1890, and they are on 1891 census at RG12 254 70 34 in Shoreditch, she aged 22

And also on 1891 there is a 34 Annie Frances Grant, born London visiting in Leicestershire RG12 2524 101 40, so a few around!

Yes will have to be careful to make sure to follow correct entry if I ever find it as I have had no luck. Maybe need to look at workhouse records in Lincolnshire archives, but until then will keep looking. Thanks for your help. 8)

Lincolnshire Archives doesn't have much on Brigg Workhouse as a lot of the records have been lost at some point:
Guardians' minute books 1920-1930
The Minutes of Committees 1912-30
Register of Inmates 1928-37
Register of Births 1914-1944
Boarding out 1912-30; etc.
All records are subject to 100-year closure for privacy.

Thanks for that so are there no register for inmates for 1907 when this child was born.

To see exactly what they have, take a look at http://microsites.lincolnshire.gov.uk/Archives/section.asp?catId=6653

Thanks for that Rover72, I have printed off a copy of that info. Now I have another snippet of info. Annie Francis Grant supposedly mother of Francis Grant was a Pianist, which is stated as her profession on her sons birth certificate in 1907. I have gleened a bit more information that she played the piano in the Angel Hotel in Glanford Brigg, maybe there is someone out there who might have some or any information about this.
;D

Why not contact someone like this

and see if they have any history archives on the Angel Inn or can direct you to any?

It might save you some search time to know that the AnnieFrances Grant married to Bartholomew Joy was my grandmother .. and my mother was born in 1907 so it's not her. Good luck though!
