Title: changes on 1911 census?????

i have my g g grandfather and family from 1851 to 1901 on the census. occupation the same and place of birth the same family added to on each census found them on the 1911 census and his place of birth is at sea!!!! can not believe my eyes what is he thinking about lol any one else had such a change of circumstance ?????

I think a lot of people gave silly answers on the 1911 census as a protest against the increasing number of personal questions being asked.  Maybe your g g grandfather was one of them ?  :)

Similar to people giving Jedi as their religion on the last census!  That's really going to confuse family historians in the future.

Being born on board ship may not be as uncommon as you suggest - look at these Google results
