Hi,
I have a Mclennan family in Liverpool, from 1870 onwards. I have them on all census, from 1871 to 1901.
1871...REF: RG10/ 3775, Folio: 50, Page: 41. Recorded as Mc Queen.
1881...REF: RG12/ 3615, Folio: 13, Page: 22. Recorded as Mc Lennon.
1891...REF: RG12/ 2910, Folio: 10, Page: 14. Recorded as Mc Lennan. :o
1901...REF: RG13/ 3430, Folio: 112, Page: 12. Recorded as Mc Lellan.
My problem is, 4 of the children have disappeared, after this date. Although I do have Annie as a witness on a wedding certificate in 1913.
The 4 rellies I am looking for after 1901 are:
Joseph McLennan b 1872, Liverpool, last known occupation was Iron Moulder.
William McLennan b 1877, Liverpool, last known as a 14 yr old errand boy on 1891 census.
Annie Mclennan b 1884, Liverpool, Last known occupation, servant on 1901 census.
Gertrude McLennan b 1889, Liverpool, was age 12 on 1901 census.
After this, they are nowhere to be found ???
Can someone point me in the right direction, and give me some clues where I might find them please ???

There is an Annie Mc Lennan 26 yrs in 1911 census index. By using the other persons search - there is no McLennan with her :(

Hi,
For the sons there's the possibility of emigration, Army or Navy.
A long shot but FreeBMD has this marriage:
Gertrude McLennan MarQ 1934 Liverpool 8b 281
Groom: Charles E Keggin
Nanny Jan

Hi,
thanks Heywood. It maybe her, but I'm sure she would have been with others. She was her brothers witness on his marriage cert in 1913. I don't know why I think that. ??? I'm probably wrong ::) I will just have to buy the census, and see what she was up to ;D
Nanny jan, that Gertrude is her niece, but thank you anyway. ;)

it's worth the money I would imagine. The trouble is that,as far as I see it, the 'other person' search has to have the same surname so that restricts the choice!

Bit late now, as you were writing in 2009 but did you ever sort out the Gertrudes? I have Gertrude born 1889 dying unmarried in 1958 on the Wirral. The Gertrude who married a Keggin is the daughter of Hugh. Gertrude (1910-1973), Hugh ( 1878-1945)
