Title: Hart/Devlin Belfast to Montreal
Post by: szwena on Sunday 10 May 09 08:15 BST (UK)
HI there!
Does anyone else have a Devlin or Hart in their tree that came from Belfast in the late 1800s or early 1900.  Some of my Hart's moved to montreal in the 1900s but came back to Belfast.  It is believed they went over to stay with family members that were already over there.  Peter, john, Catherine, Edward are just some of the names that repeat in each generation.  Most of them were Carpenters, builders.  They have a strong connection with the Devlin family who are also thought to have went over with them.  They are Roman Catholic.

The 1911 census suggests that some of my relatives stayed with Catherine Devlin prior to emmigration to Canada in 1917. Do you have further info on the Develin's?

66 Bentham Street (St George's Antrim) although there are plenty of Devlin's in Antrim. See the 1911 Irish census  http://www.nationalarchives.ie/
