Post by: Wendl on Monday 21 February 05 10:11 GMT (UK)
Seeking information on a "Carr" family believe they had a daugther Clementine b. 21 Jan 1897 in Derry, and Mary Stewart Carr 1901....may have a Belfast connection as well...

Thanks a Bunch
Wendy

***New information*** Cuthbert Carr married Elizabeth ( Lizzie) Lowrie b 6 oct 1871, in 1896, she was the daughter of James Lowrie and Mary Stewart

Quite a fair number of Carr's seem to have signed the Ulster Covenant....have you had a look at same?

You can search this index by typing in various info .... eg a full name, a surname only, an address, etc

Hi Wendy.  Elizabeth Carr (Lowrie was my 2nd great Aunt). Her date of death was 29th Sept 1904 at 20 Henry Street, Derry/Londonderry.

I am on Ancestry, perhaps there might be something else in my tree that could help you.

Regards
Lorraine Lowrie

Ps I found this when searching for possible burial place of my great Aunt , also Elizabeth (Lizzie) Lowrie who died in Belfast 1914. Family originally from Derry/Londonderry

This presumably is your Elizabeth in the 1901 census.

Good Afternoon Lorraine,

It is wonderful to hear from you!  I would love to share information.  Cuthbert Carr, Elizabeth's husband married into my family after Lizzie's death. I would love to hear from you again.  Once you get a few more post's we can message each other.  I have a photo of Cuthbert Carr.  And would love to acquire more information on Lizzie's 2 daughters Clementine b. 21Jan1897 (married George Wilson) and Mary Stewart b 01jun1901 (married William Crawford).  I am not an ancestry, I use Legacy.

I hope to hear from you again.

All the Best

Hi There.  I've finally managed to get on via a laptop and so much easier to user.  That would be great to keep in touch and see if we can get any more information on the Carr / Lowrie side of the family

Hopefully soon we can PM.  I am hoping to make a trip to Derry/Londonderry  as can find no burial place for my Great Auntie Lizzie Lowrie and this may also lead to more information on Great great Aunt Lizzie, our mutual relative

Lorraine  :) :)
